to benefit RESEARCH for the CURE for BREAST CANCER
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and also the time we honor everyone who has been touched
by the disease.
Matthews Arts will host its 4th Annual Art Auction
on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2009 to benefit
Research for the Cure for Breast Cancer.
Donations of original artwork
and/or lithograph or giclée prints;
framed or unframed pieces are welcome.
Images submitted via email to matthewsarts@verizon.net on or before September 1, 2010 are included in the auction booklet.
The Art Auction is an enjoyable evening of wonderful art, good food, and genuine fun. All proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Pittsburgh Affiliate.
Last year more than $2600 was donated to Research for the Cure for Breast Cancer.

Chairman of the Sidewalk Sale Days Committee, Matt Irwin of Northwest Savings Bank, stated that a bank employee suggested the theme title "Red, White and You." Bellevue merchants are asked to decorate in a patriotic style for the 3-day event.

Veteran service organizations will be collecting items to send to the men and women who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Funds will also be collected to pay for the mailing of those items.
Suggested items include White T-Shirts, White Socks, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Body & Foot Powder, Shampoo, Soap, Deodorant for Men and Women, Beef Jerky- a favorite, Cookies in Tins, Potato Chips in Tubes, Small Toys for the Soldiers to give to Local Children, Candies -that don't melt, Decks of Cards, Crossword Puzzles, Stationery, Phone Cards- another favorite, Pens & Pencils, Assorted Cards -Birthday, Holiday, and all Occasion- to send home, Chewing Gum, Bath Oils for Women, Kleenex in small
packages, Mints, Lifesavers, Baby Wipes or Body Wipes. Small items are best to pack.
