VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE CLASSIC CRUISE ON MAY 17, 2009

 

May 10

Make and post signs CLASSIC CRUISE MAY 17 1-5 PM at Bellevue exit 279, Chateau Street, ORB North and South of Bellevue, distribute flyers at Apple Blossom festival - Avalon

May 16

Post No Parking after 11:30 am on Sunday May 17 from Hawley to Fremont, signs on meters between Hawley and Fremont.

Make and post directional signs “VEHICLE ENTRY TO CLASSIC CRUISE” at Starr and Lincoln Ave, Riverview and ORB, Hawley and Lincoln, Hawley and Teece, North Fremont and Lincoln and North Fremont and Teece, North Balph and Teece.

 

The Classic Cruise Volunteer Schedule for Sunday May 17, 2009

Volunteers are asked to assemble at the Classic Chevrolet lot at 500 Lincoln Avenue 10 minutes in advance of their scheduled start for requested assignment. Obtain your volunteer button.

The number of entries will determine the extent of the parking on Lincoln Avenue between North Balph and N Fremont Avenues. For this reason vehicles must enter the cruise only at the North Balph and Lincoln ‘gate’.

 

11am-noon

Set up and Man barricades (9) – "open and close" barricade to allow vehicles to exit cruise area.

Direct traffic to “gate” on N Balph via Teece.

Assist with locating “other vendors” etc. (Street Treat Patrol, '58 Chevy on Classic lot)

Assist in clearing vehicles from Lincoln Avenue between Hawley and N Balph and N Balph and Fremont

Two volunteers to assist in aligning vehicles on Teece Avenue to enter North Balph Avenue and the "gate" at Lincoln (They may be in a "group")

 

Noon to 1pm

Register vehicles in line on Lincoln Avenue (5 volunteers are needed to register 5 vehicles at a time)

Provide dash plaques, to the first 100 entries, cruise rules, coupons etc.

Direct the vehicles from the "gate" at Lincoln and N Balph to turn right onto Lincoln toward Hawley.

Assist with the angled parking of the vehicles. (Required for emergency fire truck access.)

Direct entrants to turn left onto Lincoln and immediately angle-park. As vehicles enter this section, they are to proceed past the parked vehicles to the next immediately available space.

Show starts at 1pm

 

1pm-2-pm, 2pm-3pm, 3pm-4pm, 4pm-5pm

Volunteers are needed to photograph the event, sell 50/50 raffle tickets, promote Bellevue, provide face-painting, caricatures, etc. and encourage good conduct among participants and spectators.

 

5pm-6pm

Open barricades to enable vehicles, vendors and the like to exit the cruise. Thanks for participating!

Clean-up any debris along the public and private thoroughfare.
